Our student-run organization strives to teach youth the impacts that effective financial mindsets can have on their lives. We are specifically focusing on the Englewood population in Chicago where 44% of the residents fall below the poverty line. We began MoneyL.Y.F.E. as a part of the 2016 Aspen Challenge. Our specific challenge told us to "empower our peers to understand the financial rules that govern their lives" and to implement a method that will help them maximize their profit. Our organization has partnered with schools, churches, banks, and other community organizations to promote financial literacy through hosting bank fairs, teaching lessons in classrooms, and promoting events on print and social media.
